LET’S TALK ABOUT IT
When I was growing up, I would hear the elders say, “There’s a thin line between love and hate.” As I became a young adult, I would quickly learn how to feel more hate than love. I must say that both emotions can be very intense but are at two totally different sides of what I call, “the emotional rope”. Going through life I would always feel as if I was in the middle of a tug of war game, being tugged towards what I thought was love but always ending up pulling away with hate!
Love is suppose to come naturally because it flows from the heart, but then there’s hate. It often starts off as disappointed emotions that often gets fed with hurt, anger, fear, and lack of forgiveness. All that hating takes so much time, energy and effort. It eventually steals the love, joy and peace you once were looking for or even had. Why would you allow the hate that you have towards other people steal your energy? You do know how much energy it takes to hate right? So here is another idea; instead of allow the anger to grow in your life, take it and throw it out of your life. Give it to God and then pray!
WHAT DOES GOD SAY?
“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)
LET’S PRAY TOGETHER
Dear Heavenly Father I come to you today asking you to help me understand that it is impossible to truly gain deliverance from the Spirit of hate because I am praying for people and hating them at the same time. I ask that you help me strip the grip that hate has on my heart, and allow the overflow of love to saturate my heart so that I may not just like, but love again. Amen.
